Three stylish women – Lizzie, Beatrice and Madeline – met while studying interior design at George Washington University. Since graduating they founded a virtual interior design company in Philadelphia called ZOOM. Online, customers get an e-consultation to help create a virtual version of their new office, bedroom or kitchen. ZOOM then sends the digital rendering to the customer with a shopping list of items to decorate the room. All of the furnishings get shipped directly to the client.
Keeping their service affordable is key. As Beatrice says, “Right now, IKEA is pretty much the only thing out there at the price point that our counterparts getting out of college can afford. We’d like to take that a step further.”
