Former NBA player Rick Fox (Los Angeles Lakers) traveled to the Cannes Film Festival to celebrate and promote the movie Dope. It’s about high-school senior Malcolm (Shameik Moore) who loves ’90s hip-hop culture and meets a drug dealer Dom (A$AP Rocky) who stashes Ecstasy in Malcolm’s backpack. Trouble and a chase ensues. Fox plays Councilman Blackmon.
Dope was written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa. It was produced by Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker and produced by Pharrell Williams. Dope will be in theaters June 19.
