Sometimes you know something’s not right, but you keep doing it anyway because it works. You hope it doesn’t break, but when it finally does you’re not surprised. That’s the situation with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers right now. James is good enough to overcome bad basketball and lead the Cavs to victory anyway. But how often can he do it? Maybe enough. Maybe not.
Here’s James on his performance in a the Cavs Game 1 win in Atlanta: “In fourth quarter, I played way too much isolation basketball, one‑on‑one basketball, a lot of defenses set, and I was letting the clock run down way too much. I just had to take the shot or I was giving it to my guys late in the shot clock, and they couldn’t do nothing with it besides shoot it or turn the ball over. So I will do a better job.” With LeBron doing that, Cavs won by eight, even outscoring the Hawks in the supposedly bad fourth quarter. James had 31 points in the game.
