TV talk show legend David Letterman had quintuple bypass surgery in 2000. When he returned to Late Night with David Letterman, he had America’s sweetheart on the show. Julia Roberts was promoting Erin Brockovich at the time. Letterman joked about confusing Albert Finney, her co-star in the film, with Burt Reynolds.
After showing the clip — Roberts won an Oscar for the performance — Roberts leaned in to give Letterman a kiss on the lips. “I’m so glad you’re feeling better,” she said.
