SnagaStool (you know, Snag a stool) is an app lets you reserve a bar stool at your favorite bar or pub. Even if there’s a line outside, all you have to do is show the doorman your digital ticket and walk in. SnagaStool co-founder and CEO Jamie Manning said: “It started when the Bruins were in the playoffs and I offer to pay someone to sit in their seat at the bar (because it was so crowded). I get to a bar, I like to sit right at the bar, rather than the table or stand behind someone.”
How is SnagaStool different from say, OpenTable? SnagaStool also helps drive customers to venues by offering incentives (e.g. free appetizers) during off-peak hours. The company works out a percentage share based on the reservation revenue as paid by the guest. Bar owners decide how many stools are available.
