The daughter of Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, was recently interviewed by CBS Sunday Morning‘s Mo Rocca. Mo asked Nancy what she remembered about her father’s marriage to Mia Farrow. “We loved Mia,” she said. “She was like a sister.” Nancy is only four years old than Mia. (Nancy is now 74, Mia 70.)
Nancy also revealed that her father knew it wasn’t going to last long. “Maybe a couple of years,” he told Nancy. “But I feel like I have to do this.” Nancy thinks that her father married Mia because “her name was being bandied about from the press.” She said, “I think it was important for him [Frank Sinatra] to make sure she [Mia Farow] was presented as a lady and not considered something other than that.” But like all good sisters, they fight now and then. Recently, when Mia Farrow said that her son Ronan Farrow was “possibly” the son of Frank Sinatra, Nancy said she got cranky with Mia. “She knew better,” said Nancy. “But she was making a joke, and it was taken very seriously.” Nice save, big sister.
