Chicago has its mojo back–and mojo’s name is Derrick Rose. Former MVP Derrick Rose, whose leg injuries have caused more unhappy reversals than a season’s worth of Game of Thrones, has reentered the playoffs like certain spacecraft reenter the atmosphere: he’s on fire. Rose scored 34 points in a double-overtime win to put the Bulls up 3-0 in their first round series against the competitive Milwaukee Bucks.
But it’s not Rose’s 34 points that’s impressive–Derrick Rose can score 30 on crutches given enough shots. It’s that he went 12 of 23 from the floor to do it. In game 1 of this series, Rose scored 23 points on 9 of 16 shooting. It’s the efficiency that makes the Bulls a contender.
