Dallas authorities charged a 43-year-old woman with “practicing medicine without a license,” according to AP. Denise Ross was allegedly injecting hydrogel into customers derrieres in order to help them attain the booty of their desires. It hardly seems like the practice of medicine, licensed or otherwise. But hydrogel injections are big business–and physicians who charge handsomely for the injections do not want salon workers like Ms. Ross administering them below market rates.
“One customer said she suffered soreness and psychological problems after the procedure,” according to police. No immediate information was available concerning the customer’s psychological state before she decided to have backroom injections to enlarge her buttocks.
