When Deanna Johnson didn’t make it onto The Voice the first time she auditioned, she stopped singing for months. But her friends and family didn’t let her give up. It took a while but Deanna’s father and sister convinced her to come to church and sing before she auditioned again…three seasons later. At her second audition, she received a totally different response. All four judges’ chairs turned around. She chose Adam Levine.
Deanna won the Battle Rounds singing “Love Me Like You Do” by Ellie Goulding which let her move on to the Knockout Round. At the Final Knockouts, she’ll sing “Listen to Your Heart” by Roxette. On what will happen next, Deanna’s father said: “What goes on from here doesn’t really matter, I think this has been a turning point in her life that you just don’t quit, when you get down, you keep fighting.”
