Rita Ora will star as herself in the season finale of Empire. With Harlem-born rapper Charles Hamilton, she’ll perform “NY Raining” at a party for Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard). The single is Hamilton’s first since his 2008 “Brooklyn Girls.” In 2010, Hamilton checked himself into a psychiatric hospital. He says he continues to struggle with bipolar disorder (just like Lucious’ son Andre on Empire.) Good news for Hamilton: he’s making a comeback. He just signed with Republic and is working on a full-length album.
Ora said “NY Raining” is one of her favorite songs that she’s recorded. The two-hour season finale of Empire airs Wednesday, March 18, beginning at 8pm on FOX.
