The famous stiff upper lip of the British ruling class suffered a puncture wound recently as the future King of England blabbed on about the love of his life. Prince Charles, mostly known for cheating on his first wife and fathering two very celebrated princes, is coming to tour the US. To hear him chat leading up to the visit, you’d think he was talking to Dr. Phil. Then again, wife #2 has faced a difficult road trying to rehab her reputation after replacing Princess Diana. Even Charles says it’s been a “real, real challenge.”
Charles, of course, married his mistress, Camilla Parker Bowles–now the Duchess of Cornwall– after his first wife’s tragic death. And boy does he gush over Camilla, who was always more his speed than Diana anyway. “It’s always marvelous to have somebody who, you know, you feel understands and wants to encourage,” the still smitten Prince tells CNN. He and the Duchess have been married ten years and she’s joining him on the trip. Charles talks almost giddily about the work Camilla has done “around osteoporosis” and her efforts for literacy and against sexual violence.
