A few weeks ago Hugh Jackman said he was ready to play Wolverine again and again and again until he dies. The 46-year-old actor has already played the superhero seven times, but apparently still loves doing it. Would moviegoers really get to see Jackman slicing up foe even after Wolverine’s ridiculously large sideburns turned completely grey? Well, probably not. It seems when he said “I should never stop playing Wolverine. I’ve got to find a way to keep playing him until I die,” he may have got a bit carried away. Jackman now says he is ready for just one more go at the superhero, and only if there is a decent script. Well, someone must have shown him a decent script because last week he shared a photo on Instagram of the mutant’s claws with the caption “WOLVERINE … ONE LAST TIME. HJ”
As The Hollywood Reporter points out, there are three claws in the photo. There is a script for Wolverine 3 in circulation, and if the deal comes together, and it’s now looking definite, hence the Instagram photo–unless playing with sharp objects and fans’ minds is just how Jackman likes to spend the weekend–he will reunite with James Mangold, the director of The Wolverine 2. It remains to be seen if Fox can persuade Jackman to turn “one last time” into “two last times” by also appearing in X-Men: Apocalypse, slated to open in 2016, alongside James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, who are reprising their roles from the two previous X-Men movies.
