Amazon’s upgraded version of Amazon Prime features Amazon Prime Now–and the service takes instant gratification to a addictive new level. Prime Now will deliver a huge variety of products directly to your door in under an hour. Or you can schedule delivery for a more convenient time. (It’s increasingly apparent why Amazon plans to use drones in the future, cutting its delivery time to just 30 minutes anywhere.)
The incredible thing about Amazon Prime Now is that it’s virtually free to all standard Amazon Prime members. Amazon Prime membership costs $99 a year–and that membership covers the near-instant delivery through Amazon Prime Now. The app is free, of course. One-hour guaranteed delivery is $7.99. But if you can wait 65 minutes, delivery will cost you nothing and often arrive early. And here’s a tip: if you’re not an Amazon Prime member but you want to try it out, you can get a 30-day free trial here. The service is available only in NYC so far, but the app promises it’s “coming soon to a city near you.” Get the app here. Busted Kozmo investors can order tissues.
