Actor Malcolm Jamal-Warner (Theo on The Cosby Show) plays charismatic megachurch leader Hamilton Spears in the Lifetime original movie, Megachurch Murder (February 7, 8pm). The problem is MJW doesn’t get much air time because he’s the one who gets murdered.
Well, his death is considered a suicide at first, until his daughter Hannah (Shanica Knowles, Hannah Montana) finds evidence of a church conspiracy to kill her father. Her mother (Tamala Jones, Castle) might be involved and her new boyfriend (Romeo Miller, Romeo!) just might be the son of her father’s killer (Michael Beach, Sons of Anarchy). This isn’t a spoiler alert – in the promos, Lifetime reveals too much, too soon. It might be easier to watch the over-the-top drama if Malcolm Jamal-Warner, who looks terrific btw, wasn’t killed off so early in the show.
