Jeremy Lin couldn’t get a foul call on some key plays down the stretch in the Lakers 118-111 OT win over the Celtics Sunday. So the enterprising Lin did his resourceful best: he knocked down some ridiculously tough shots anyway. It was yet another display of Lin’s self-reliance–he doesn’t need the referee’s help.
But Lin does rely on one guy–and that’s the unfortunately Lin-wary Lakers head coach Byron Scott. Because to succeed, Lin has to get in the game. That’s a call–putting Lin in games–that Scott seems to make willy-nilly, for reasons the coach keeps mostly to himself. But even if Lin couldn’t get a call from the refs against the Celtics, he did at least get the call from Scott this time. Lin responded with 25 points in 30 minutes, including a couple of big buckets you can see below.
