The glamorous subway performer Najah Lewis on American Idol is from Brooklyn, New York. The 20-year-old makes a decent living performing underground. She says she can make $300 on a good day, $100 on a bad day.
Lewis got a big boost when AnnaSophia Robb, the star of The Carrie Diaries, shared one of Lewis’ videos on Twitter. Five hours after that happened, the video had more than 12,000 likes. “I’m truly humbled. How awesome is that!?!” wrote Lewis. Pretty awesome. But not as great as winning American Idol.
