Abe Vigoda, unlikely Internet sensation and former Barney Miller star, turned 94 on February 24. You’d think Vigoda would be the Grand Poobah having achieved that kind of stature. But Zsa Zsa Gabor sneers at Abe’s youth and inexperience–Gabor turned 98 a few weeks ago.
The great Sidney Poitier (“They call me Mr. Tibbs”) is a February baby too, turning 88 on the 20th. Hal Holbrook, who has become more Mark Twain than Mark Twain ever was, is 90. Fly boy Chuck Yeager suits up these days age 92. Broadway star and triple-threat Carol Channing is 94. Comedian Irwin Corey, “the world’s foremost authority,” is 100–what he must know by now! Kirk Douglas is still kicking at 98.
