Ty Hensely was selected by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft. Last week while visiting a friend in Oklahoma City, he was “beaten unconscious and sustained a broken jaw and facial fractures in the attack.” According to the Oklahoma District Attorney’s office, felony assault and battery charges were filed against Anthony Morales, a former Weber State linebacker (5’10”, 230 lbs.) “who was briefly on the Carolina Panthers’ training camp roster this season.” He is from Edmond, Oklahoma, too.
The 21-year-old Hensley is now recovering at his home in Oklahoma City. He is expected to report to Spring Training.
