Tiger Woods is taking a page from a trend among NBA players. Woods reportedly spent some of the off-season slimming down, in search of a return to a skinnier time. (Woods might be wary–LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony were the two biggest slim-down stories in this year’s NBA, and neither got off to a very strong start.)
The sinewy Woods takes his first official swings of the PGA season at this week’s Phoenix Open. The former World No. 1 golfer is proving he’s still the World No. 1 marketer. Woods laced up his new ruby slippers–sorry, his new Tiger Woods TW15 golf shoes and proclaimed his “footwork has never been better.” Tell that to the year 2000, when Woods’s footwork and everything else about him was the envy of golfers everywhere. For the discerning golfer of 2015, here’s a pair of Rory McIlroy’s kicks.
My footwork has never been better. Excited to put them in play this week. #TW15 pic.twitter.com/ABcQVOjLPv
