Before there was Kim Kardashian there was Paris Hilton. Sure, she’s still around–but once upon a time Paris Hilton owned so much celebrity face time that her expressions, not just her body parts, entered the zeitgeist. Hilton’s most famous pronouncement? That’s hot. (She trademarked it, too–the apple fell not far from Conrad‘s tree.)
We bring this up because in order to describe Golden State Warrior Klay Thompson’s perfection on Friday night, we need to borrow Ms. Hilton’s phrase. (The pop-culturally-advanced can picture Marv Albert and Paris Hilton saying it in harmony.) Klay Thompson scored 37 points in the 3rd quarter, an NBA record. He was 13-13 in the quarter, including 9-9 from three-point land. The best part about the awesomeness, for Warriors fans, is that it still wasn’t a one-man show. No one enjoyed it more than Thompson’s Warrior teammates. How to describe Thompson’s sheer virtuosity and the resultant Warrior joy? That’s hot.
