Canadian professional boxer Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KOs) will defend his heavyweight title against American Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 17 (10pm on Showtime). Stiverne is coming off a May win over Chris Arreola, while Wilder stopped Jason Gavern in August.
The undefeated Wilder made headlines in May after beating up a YouTube troll in real life, at the Hollywood Boxing Gym. Charlie Zelenoff likes to boast about his boxing skills and dared Wilder to a fight. Zelenoff allegedly has been harassing Wilder and his family for years. Some boxing fans think the way Wilder defended his family was honorable; others think a professional seriously taking on an amateur in the ring is a disgrace.
