You may have heard that there’s an Entourage movie coming soon. Vulture describes it as “long-awaited,” which is a bit hyperbolic. I’ve seen the trailer, and to me it seems an unnecessary cash grab by a much-loved HBO series that probably went on a season or two too many, and ended so long ago (in TV years, that is) it seems like a souvenir from the distant past. Plus, the cast is looking old and fat (except for Jerry Ferrara, who looks as if he might have a tapeworm). In any event, Vince & Co. are coming to theaters this summer, and it seems there are still a few scenes to film, as the actors took the opportunity at last night’s red carpet to shoot some footage for the new film.
“Variety reported that Jeremy Piven & Co. were working on the film’s ‘special ending’ before the awards show began,” writes Vulture, “and E! added that some of the stars conducted mock interviews with real reporters (Carson Daly, for one).” I’m not sure what the special ending of the film will be (Vince gets a Golden Globe?), but I do hope that Jeremy Piven (who these days is showing his more serious side in England portraying department store magnate Harry Selfridge) will get to hug it out with a little bitch at least once.
