Irish featherweight fighter Conor McGregor is just one fight away from winning a UFC title shot. He’s getting a lot of additional media attention due to his relationship with UFC President Dana White. Some in the league complain that they’re too chummy. A video of McGregor driving on the Vegas strip in White’s Ferrari was the icing on the cake (see below).
When asked about the criticism, McGregor told the Boston Herald: “A lot of people in the UFC seem to feel, just because they are signed by the three letters, they feel they are guaranteed money. To me, a lot of people are overpaid. I’m always hearing about people underpaid. I believe a lot of them are overpaid. There’s a lot of rookies in there that should probably not be in there. So they can say what they want about my relationship with my employers, but be careful. Because one day soon, I won’t just be . . . they won’t be my employers anymore. We will be side-by-side. And who knows, I’ll (expletive) around and come back and cut half of the roster. So be careful when they mention my name.”
