Before competing at the US Championships women’s final in Greensboro, North Carolina on January 24, figure skater Ashley Wagner made her media rounds. She sat down with Michael Buckley of IceNetwork’s “Social Scene.” He was quick to complain that Wagner didn’t tweet this much this year. (The show is called “Social Scene”!) Wagner responded, “People are mean, so I stopped reading.” Then she added with a smile, “Screw it all.” Fair enough, Olympic bronze medalist.
Buckley asked a handful of questions that came via his Twitter fans including what’s your favorite TV show. “Vampire Diaries is my guilty pleasure,” Wagner said. When asked what she’s listening to she started to stumble. She said, “We had T Swift on in locker room.” When Buckley followed up with “which song” Wagner got flustered and then the interview took some strange turns. From Wagner answering questions in gibberish to Buckely telling Wagner that she’s “our only hope for sexy!” Not sure how Gracie Gold is going to feel about that. She’ll probably just Shake It Off.
