The world’s best athletes are invariably tough, but some have pretty thin skin. Rafa Nadal fought through terrible cramping to get through his second round Australian Open match and the media credited the Spaniard for his fighting spirit. That pisses off Scotsman Andy Murray. Murray is still aggrieved over how his own cramping at last year’s US Open was perceived.
Seeing the praise directed at Nadal, Murray couldn’t help but scratch at the old wound, tweeting: “When I cramped and won in the us open last year I was a “drama Queen, unfit, needs to see a shrink, faker” weird…”. Strangely that episode was at the top of nobody’s mind until Murray brought it up again. There’s some sort of process for getting over slights and on with things–how does one do that? Oh, that’s right. Does somebody need to see a shrink?!!
