Shake Shack, the beloved burger, just filed for an IPO. First taking New York by storm ten years ago, sales at the company’s shacks has grown to $82.5 million. Growth has been amping up significantly. In 2010 Shake Shack had 7 stores–now it has 63 shacks where diners inevitably leave satisfied.
The company has 27 licensed Shacks outside the US, making it an international brand as well. According to its filing, “Shake Shack has been recognized with numerous accolades, including Bon Appétit’s “The 20 Most Important Restaurants in America” (ranked #16), TIME Magazine’s “17 Most Influential Burgers of All Time” (ranked #7 for the ShackBurger) and winning “Best Burger” in 2007 and 2014 at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival’s Burger Bash.”
