Actress Natalie Portman is the only female actress listed in the cast of the upcoming Western/action film, Jane Got a Gun. She plays Jane, a woman who asks her ex-lover (Joel Edgerton) for help in order to save her outlaw husband (Noah Emmerich) from a gang out to kill him (led by Ewan McGregor). The film is directed by Gavin O’Connor (Warrior) and written by Anthony Tambakis (Warrior). Warrior, btw, was the 2011 mixed martial arts movie starring Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy (Mad Max).
Jane Got a Gun is the fourth film which Portman has worked with McGregor. They starred in the Star Wars prequels – Portman was Padme Amidala and McGregor was Obi-Wan Kenobi. That means Portman and McGregor are almost halfway to the nine films that the legendary Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn made together. But Portman and McGregor have to get busy to catch up with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, who made 11 films together. Jane Got a Gun is scheduled for a September 2015 release.
