Stand-up comedian Craig Ferguson hosted his last episode of CBS’ Late Late Show, on Friday, December 19. It was a dramatic final with a performance of Dead Man Fall’s “Bang Your Drum” and appearances from Jay Leno, Bob Newhart, and Drew Carey. Ferguson took the spot as host from Craig Kilborn (1999-2004). English actor/comedian James Corden is taking over. The 36-year-old Corden won the 2012 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play (One Man, Two Guvnors).
So what’s next for Ferguson? He told Vanity Fair that he has “various projects that his Green Mountain West production banner is developing for Science Channel and Discovery,” as well as the game show Celebrity Name Game, which Ferguson now hosts and produces with Friends star Courteney Cox and David Arquette’s Coquette Productions.
