AdvoCare is a company in Plano, Texas that offers nutrition, weight loss, energy and sports performance products. It was the exclusive sponsor of the 2014 Texas Bowl. (The Arkansas Razorbacks crushed the Texas Longhorns, 31-7). AdvoCare says all its products “are based on significant scientific and medical breakthroughs.” But the company was also founded on the notion of honoring God.
AdvoCare’s late founder Charlie Ragus developed 10 principles that guide AdvoCare’s direction and remain the basis of the company’s success. (Ragus founded AdvoCare in 1993. He died in 2001 at the age of 58.) #1 of the 10 principles is — “Honor God through our faith, family and friends.” AdvoCare is also the sponsor of next year’s Texas Kickoff on September 5, 2015 (Texas A&M vs. Arizona State) and the 2016 Cowboys Classic on September 3, 2016 (USC Trojans vs. Alabama Crimson Tide). Many professional athletes endorse the product including Eagles quarterback Nick Foley and AdvoCare’s national spokesperson, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
