The Miami Heat would like you to know they are still the Eastern Conference champions–and that they’ve won two out of the last four NBA championships. Sure, that James guy is gone, but Dwyane Wade is still in a Heat uniform–and he has more rings than LeBron James anyway. The Heat are 3-0. They are the only undefeated team in the East.
Wade and max contract superstar Chris Bosh are driving this squad that has something to prove. (The Heat probably have as much to prove as anybody, Cavaliers included.) They added Luol Deng, too. Deng is no LeBron–no one is–but he’s an all-star and a proven winner. Guard Norris Cole is terrorizing defenses. Mario Chalmers is bothering everybody but his teammates–he has a gift for it. And the Heat can rebound. Bosh keeps grabbing double figure boards, which is going to make the Miami tough to beat. The Houston Rockets, also undefeated and also with a lot to prove, will take a shot on Tuesday in Miami. It’ll be especially interesting to see if Wade is matched up with Houston scoring sensation James Harden, whose defense is hilarious.
