Meghan Trainor started writing songs when she was 11 years old. She grew up on Cape Cod, in Hyannis, Massachusetts, with musical encouragement from her parents who own a jewelry shop in town. Her father used to teach band at the local high school. By 18, Meghan had signed a songwriting deal with Big Yellow Dog Music. This year, now 20, her debut single All About That Bass reached number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 list.
Trainor was certainly born to sing and perform and she has an incredible career in front of her. With Miranda Lambert, Trainor will perform All About That Bass on the televised Country Music Assocation awards on Wednesday, November 5. Btw, she was offered a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music — think she’ll ever regret it? Her third studio album Title will drop January 13, 2015. Just think, if she did go to Berklee, she’d have to deal with mid-terms instead!
