Agent Carter, a limited series on ABC, will take the timeslot of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during the fall and spring season gap. For eight weeks beginning Tuesday, January 6, 2015, ABC hopes fans of S.H.I.E.L.D. will like to follow the adventures of Agent Peggy Carter. Agent Carter works at the Strategic Scientific Reserve (the precursor to S.H.I.E.L.D.) and tries to clear Howard Stark’s (Dominic Cooper) name after he’s framed for selling deadly weapons.
Carter is portrayed by actress Hayley Atwell, who played the character in Captain America: The First Avenger and is preparing for the 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron. Don’t worry about Atwell being pigeon-holed into one role. You’ll see her softer side in the Disney film Cinderella directed by Shakespearean Kenneth Branagh! Atwell will play Cinderella’s mother.
