AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with attempting to procure murder, threatening to kill, and possession of drugs. The Guardian reports that the 60-year-old was the subject of a raid in New Zealand on Thursday morning. He appeared in court without shoes. He is out on bail until November 27.
According to court documents, Rudd is accused of attempting to hire one person to kill two others between September 25 and 26. According to the AC/DC Facebook page, “Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust [the first in six years] and upcoming tour next year.” Phil was not featured in the first image released to promote the album nor the two video shoots. Lead singer Brian Johnson reported that Phil had a “family emergency.”
