Charges against AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd of attempting to procure murder have been dropped in New Zealand. He was accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill two people. However, Rudd still faces the other charges – threatening to kill someone and possession of methamphetamine and cannabis. He could face a maximum of seven years if convicted of threatening to kill.
The “intended hitman” told the New Zealand Herald that the whole thing had been blown out of proportion. Rudd remains on bail until November 27 when he will reappear in court, one day before AC/DC’s sixteenth studio album Rock or Bust will be released in Australia.
