Those who can’t do teach, the old saying goes. But that wasn’t true in the case of Jacqueline Laurent-Auger, a secondary school teacher who did indeed. Students at an elite Canadian private school were cruising the Internet and turned up a old film called The Intimate Journal of a Nymphomaniac. One of its stars was Jacqueline Laurent, sans the Auger which she acquired later. Ms. Laurent-Auger was their teacher.
On finding out about nude scenes in Nymphomaniac and a few other films Laurent-Auger made, the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf–where the now 73-year-old former actress has been teaching drama for 15 years–fired her. They apparently wanted a drama teacher with less acting experience. You know that recent ruling in Europe where Google can be made to forget you? Couldn’t come soon enough for Ms. Laurent-Auger. But why should she–and her work–be forgotten? It made her who she is today–helped mold the teacher who helped mold the young students.
