Tennis star Thomas Berdych wants to rise to that next level–he’s only a hair away from the elite status of Djokovic, Murray, Federer and Nadal. It made perfect sense to ask his fellow Czech, the longtime world #1 Ivan Lendl, to help. After all, Lendl just helped Andy Murray get there, coaching the athletic Scotsman for two years during which Murray won his first two Grand Slams (Wimbledon, US Open). So Berdych asked Lendl, who had quit coaching Murray in March. But Lendl turned Berdych down, according to the Associated Press.
Lendl is too busy to coach right now. “I enjoyed it enough to consider it again, but at the moment I enjoy playing and having a bit more free time,” he said.
