Blake Griffin gets hit hard. The 6’10” sky-walking LA Clippers forward gives defenders all kinds of trouble, and they tend to resort to the options they have left. Talking about his frustration with the hard fouls, Griffin said last week that he would “probably” start retaliating if they continued. Griffin was asked about it because during a preseason game with the Jazz he grabbed the back of opposing forward Trevor Booker’ head after a hard foul. Coach Doc Rivers told ESPN that Griffin “gets hit with more cheap shots than anybody in the league.”
But Griffin is getting frustrated off the court too. He’s being investigated for allegedly assaulting a man at a nightclub in Las Vegas early Sunday morning. According to TMZ, the police statement said Griffin confiscated a phone from a fan who took his picture and when there was resistance, he grabbed the fan’s neck and slapped him in the face. Doesn’t sound like opposing forwards have much to fear, but fans? Careful.
