Monday Night Football gets millions of eyeballs, as they say in the business. Those eyeballs all watched as Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown scored a touchdown and then he didn’t, as the refs changed the call after reviewing the replay. Brown insists he had both pink-shoe’d feet inbounds and tweeted a photo to “prove” it.
Brown’s photo is a blurry screenshot that may not prove anything except costly to Brown himself, who’ll probably be fined for social media insubordination. You’re not supposed to question the refs, especially with profanity. The NFL has an image to maintain! The incident brings up yet again the subject of how authoritarian regimes like the NFL can tamp down rebels (like Antonio Brown) now that they have their own platforms (like Twitter.)
