The YouTube comedy team Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla will star in The SMOSH Movie, named after their YouTube channel SMOSH. For their 19 million subscribers they post a new video every Friday. Hecox and Padilla produce very high quality video game parodies, movie parodies and they love pretty much anything to do with porta-potties.
Film distributor Lionsgate is describing The SMOSH Movie as “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure for 2014.” Bill and Ted didn’t have the Internet to contend with as teenagers. The SMOSH Movie will revolve around an embarrassing video of Anthony that’s been leaked online right before his fifth high school reunion. He and Ian try to remove the footage before his old high school crush sees it. Other YouTube stars – Jenna Marbles, Grace Helbig, Harley Morenstein, Shane Dawson, Mark Fischback (Markiplier) and Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval — will appear as Ian and Anthony (like Bill and Ted) jump through a portal that takes them inside the video-sharing website.
