The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills, both coming off Week 1 upsets, collide in Buffalo at 1pm. There are worse times of year to visit Buffalo and the Dolphins–who like the temperate weather–appreciate the position of their Buffalo matchup on this year’s calendar. The AFC rivals look to be closely matched–that’s what the oddsmakers think anyway–with the Bills getting just 1 or 1.5 (depending on where you wager), a slight edge due to the home field factor. (It’s the closest spread on any Sunday game.) If this game were being played near the beach the Fish would be the faves.
The Bills have a proposed new owner and are playing their first home game after surprising the Chicago Bears in overtime in the Windy City last week. The Dolphins ride the momentum of a crushing week 1 win over Tom Brady’s Patriots, who may not be what they once were–but beating the Pats is still essential for Miami’s success. Miami sacked Brady four times and allowed only 89 yards running. It’s a new look for Miami and with the emphasis on running and defense, it resembles nothing more than some classic Bills teams of old. Bills have won two in a row against the Dolphins and will be confident. They’ll have to stop the Dolphins’ Knowshon Moreno, who ran 24 times for 134 yards against the Pats.
