Le’Veon Bell didn’t figure to be the least controversial running back in the mix during tonight’s first Thursday Night Football broadcast. When Bell was arrested a few weeks ago with 20 grams of weed in his Camaro, he had to figure that might draw a little media attention. But Ray Rice and the Baltimore Ravens took care of that–with a violent tale of horror and a punch that eclipses a little story about a creative running back who likes to get high.
When the Le’Veon Bell’s Steelers meet the Baltimore Ravens tonight, it’ll be Bell’s ability to dodge defenders (far better than his ability to dodge the cops) that will bring him attention. In week one Bell had a superb game against the Bengals, running for over 100 yards in the first half alone. He made defenders miss with nimble feet that make him a natural for a post-career appearance on Dancing With the Stars. (Especially now that that show has fellow stoner Tommy Chong as a contestant.) Watch Bell tonight if you want to see running artistry combined with power. He should dominate the Ravens with variety, in what’s expected to be a close, if not a particularly great game. The Steelers are looking to wake up 2-0 tomorrow morning and the Ravens are hoping to avoid being 0-2. Baltimore is a 2.5 point favorite.
