Wouldn’t you? Now that reports aplenty say that the stunning Eva Mendes just gave birth to a baby girl, the actress’s claim (see below) to Ellen DeGeneres that pregnancy rumors were ridiculous are shown to be an excellent case of putting the dogs off the track. Why did she refuse to go through the x-ray machines at the airport? Not because of pregnancy but privacy. The machines “basically see you naked” and are “creepy, right?” she tells Ellen. Mendes is awfully good at the denial–hey, she could be an actress! Wait…
But what was she supposed to say? Yes? And have her pregnancy watched and speculated on by millions for the duration? And also have the child’s father, Ryan Gosling, questioned at every turn? There are celebrities who claim to want privacy but instead put their personal news out there as if the world is just part of their extended families. And then there are those, and it seems clear Mendes is in this group, who really would rather keep some personal things personal–like a much wished-for pregnancy. What could be more personal than that?
