English pop singer Ellie Goulding released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010. It hit number one of the UK charts. Her cover of Elton John’s Your Song was a big hit, too – she performed it at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton. She’s a hitmaker, they keep coming. Her song Mirror appears in the film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and her song Beating Heart is on the soundtrack for the film Divergent.
When not singing, Goulding is running. She averages six miles a day. She ran the inaugural Nike Women Half Marathon in Washington, DC in April 2013. (Her time: 1:41:35.) So it shouldn’t come as a great surprise to her fans that Goulding will be featured in a commercial for Nike. In the forthcoming TV ad, she’s running through the streets of London in a bright pink long sleeved shirt and black snakeskin print leggings. “It’s something I need to do every day, because it affects my mood, my fitness, even my mind-set onstage,” Goulding told DailyMail. It’s not her first collaboration with Nike; the sports behemoth shot a film about her, her music and training for the Nike half-marathon (see below).
