Businessman, Los Angeles Dodgers part-owner, former hoops star and all-around Mr. LA, Magic Johnson says NFL football is coming back to the city of angels. It’s been 20 years since an NFL franchise called LA home–a glaring gap in the otherwise triumphant march of the NFL to the top of the sports totem pole over the last two decades.
And while Magic will take any team (“We just want a team in the worst way”) his heart is really set on the Oakland Raiders moving back to LA. The storied Raiders franchise used to call LA home after all–and they look poised to get out of the Bay Area. “I think for the first time, I truly believe we’re going to get a team. Finally,” Johnson said at a joint Cowboys-Raiders pre-season practice. “Everybody is on board. The city is on board. The business community is on board. The NFL is on board.” Yup, that would seem to be everybody. Just need a team.
