Emmy nominee Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) took CNN journalist Ashleigh Banfield as his date to the awards ceremony this week. Banfield is the host of the daytime news program Legal View with Ashleigh Banfield. She recently made a cameo appearance on House of Cards as the news reporter who interviewed Spacey’s wife Claire (Robin Wright) when Claire shockingly revealed that she had had an abortion.
Banfield also appeared as a reporter in the first episode of Season 3 of multiple Emmy Award-winning show Breaking Bad. Spacey and Banfield have more than primetime drama in common. Like Spacey (Beyond the Sea, the biopic of Bobby Darin), Banfield is an accomplished singer. She used to sing with a bar band called The Rusty River Rafters.
