BGR is the place to go for your tech-gadget-mobile insights. If it’s happening now–or about to happen–BGR knows about it. (The BG stands for Boy Genius, btw.) And better yet, BGR is a bargain hunter. This week they’re letting us know that cool stuff you usually have to pay for is FREE. BGR lists ten free iPhone and iPad apps with the caveat that the giveaways could end at any moment–it’s up to the developers, of course.
There’s a cool SMS Google Maps “Find Me” location indicator, so your friends can find you. Usually just a buck, it’s got 42 million ‘likes” and now it’s free for a limited time. And the normally $1.99 “MP3 Meeting Recorder & Dictaphone App“, about which BGR says “Complex name, simple app,” is free right now too. It’s perfect if you, say, know somebody like Donald Sterling. Also a very cool Paint tool, normally $2.99, is free: Paint FX. This app has one of the best iTunes reviews we’ve seen: “Seriously, I have blended my favorite shoes into an outfit, I have blended my little boy into outer space.” What can’t you blend, it seems, with Paint FX? Some other apps are obviously less useful, perhaps, like the Morse Code Generator–but we like knowing it’s there if you need it.
