Although most two-year-olds are fast asleep by 8pm, Beyonce and Jay Z brought their daughter Blue Ivy to MTV’s Video Music Awards. The toddler didn’t just watch her megastar mother perform in a metallic leotard, Blue Ivy sang and danced along. And to dispel all rumors of marital trouble, Beyonce cried as she accepted the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award from her husband and child. (Jimmy Fallon presented the award to Justin Timberlake last year.)
Alas, all didn’t end perfectly at Blue Ivy’s debut: Katy Perry beat Beyonce for “Best Female Video” for her “Dark Horse.” The other young artists vying for the award — Lorde, Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, are not married with children.
