Andrej Pejic is now Andreja Pejic. The fashion model who took the androgyny trend to a new level has been making news since 2011 with her gender-bending public identity. The story of her gender reassignment surgery was given to three different media organizations as a three-way exclusive–talk about bending definitions. In addition to Entertainment Weekly, which interviewed the fashion star, Pejic gave her story to style.com and People. She told the most popular magazine in America that she wanted to share her story “because I think I have a social responsibility.”
Those who don’t have their fingers on the pulse of the fashion business may recognize Pejic from the recent “The Stars are Out Tonight” video/short film from David Bowie, who knows a bit about gender bending.
