In the Bates Motel episode ‘Hidden’, the new sheriff in town, Sheriff Jane Greene stops by the motel. She tells Norman (Freddie Highmore) that Romero (Nestor Carbonell) has escaped and she wants to know if he’s contacted Norman. Norman continues to struggle to keep his secrets a secret.
[Left: Silence of the Lambs –– you’ll never hear Tom Petty’s “American Girl” the same way after Brooke Smith‘s scene]
Sheriff Greene is portrayed by Brooke Smith. She’s known for her roles on Ray Donovan (Frances), Grey’s Anatomy (Dr. Erica Hahn), Weeds (Valerie Scottson), Crossing Jordan (Dr. Kate Switzer), and Heist (Sarah), among others. Smith is also well recognized for her roles in the Louis Malle 1994 film Vanya on 42nd Street with Wally Shawn and Andre Gregory, and in Silence of the Lambs (Catherine Martin, the young woman who sings Tom Petty’s “American Girl” before being abducted). Bates Motel airs Mondays at 10pm on A&E.
