Helen Slater will guest star on CBS’s Supergirl pilot–and fans say that’s inspired. The news comes with another super bit of casting–Dean Cain will appear, too! (Cain donned the cape in the popular ABC series Lois & Clark in the mid-1990s.)
Slater, of course, starred as Kara in the 1984 movie Supergirl. She’s perfect to return to add credibility to the new Supergirl series, because she’s maintained her superhero credentials. Like many actors who take on superhero roles, the beautiful, versatile, talented Slater has become a piece of that comics universe. She made numerous guest appearances on the Superman-inspired Smallville TV series. She also voiced Talia in Batman: The Animated Series. And as Wikipedia reports: “Slater wrote a day in the life of the Supergirl tale entitled “A Hero’s Journey” which appeared in the 50th issue of the Supergirl comic book.”
